IN-BETWEEN is a first-person narrative horror mystery developed by Damn Boi Studios for the 7-Day Pixel Forge Game Jam.
You play as Garv Tomar, a 34-year-old paranormal investigator who has spent over a decade documenting supernatural phenomena and unexplained occurrences. His latest case takes him to the infamous Bandhan Family House, a mansion abandoned after all eight members of the Bandhan family died under mysterious circumstances in a single night.
Known for founding the Bandhan Security Foundation, a company specializing in locks, vaults, and advanced security systems, the family left behind a house filled with sealed rooms, hidden mechanisms, and secrets buried beneath years of grief.
As you explore the house, you will encounter the fragmented souls of the deceased. Each soul exists in two forms:
- Spirit – the remaining humanity of the deceased.
- Burden – a manifestation of their collective grief, guilt, and unresolved regrets.
Work alongside the Spirits to uncover hidden clues, solve environmental puzzles, and piece together the tragic story behind the family's downfall. Help each Spirit complete their unfinished business and attain Release.
HOW TO PLAY
Using EMF Scanner -
EMF Scanner lets you search for electromagnetic field which helps in finding and interacting with souls.
- Press "Q" to Open EMF Scanner
- When The EMF Scanner is open, you will two Frequencies. The first Sine Wave in the EMF Device lets u track the location of the soul, When it is disrupted, that means that soul is really close.
- Upon reaching close to a soul, Press "F" to lock the Sine Wave.
- Using your mouse's scroll button. Match the given Frequency using the second Sine Wave.
- When confirnmed, press "F" again to lock both Waves. Upon matching successfully, you will be able to reveal the soul's location and talk to it.
Use Cupboards to Hide from "Burden" -
- The mansion consists of several cupboards, which are suitable to hide during "Burden's" chase.
About This Version
This is currently a Demo created for the Pixel Forge Game Jam by a team of four developers at Damn Boi Studios.
